On the way home from work tonight I saw an airplane come soaring down over the east beltine. With the airport being so close to that road I got a good close look at the aircraft. I was reminded of the days when Larry used to take us kids to the fences on the airport's property borders way back when. I have a distinct memory of my mom complaining as Larry kept us out to watch airplanes for hours on end. We used to wait until dark so we could see the plane lights, and while we waited I collected rocks of all shapes, sizes and colors from the gravel access drive on the airports perimeter. Then finally, when the wind got too cold or mom bitched enough, we drove home in that old brown station wagon. The other day I sat in my backyard with my hands outstretched, holding all varieties of rocks that wakeem was collecting around the yard.
